We are pleased to announce that the S.M.I.L.E-ing Boys Project – A research-led initiative with a mission to empower young black boys through poetry, photography, and immersive art projects – has partnered with Brixton Village to unveil a new installation across Market Row for 12 weeks, with an opening event on Thursday 12 March.
Uncovering the truths, realities, and growth of these young boys throughout the project, the exhibition will see Brixton Village adorned with a market-wide installation of portrait flags. Providing visitors with an opportunity to understand and engage with the realities of these young people, the 12-week installation will showcase a series of photo portraits projected onto flags throughout Brixton Village.
