Send Me Inspiring Loving Energy
The S.M.I.L.E project is an ongoing Wellcome Trust funded photography, poetry, multimedia and interactive art project which involves capturing the smiles of the diverse faces (religions, races, ethnic groups, genders and socio economic groups) of the people in Europe mainly, exploring their reasons for smiling and what would make them smile more. The aim of the project is to help challenge stereotypes of the diverse people that exist within the society and what the perceptions attached to these groups are, more poignantly since brexit and the rise in Xenophobic rhetoric. The project also explores the effects of smiling on the mental health and overall wellbeing of people.
